What are the advantages of hiring live musicians?

Live musicians can respond to changes more effectively than recorded media. We can provide music to smooth out those unplanned circumstances. If the bride is late for the ceremony, if the ring bearer looses the ring, if the groom faints - we provide INSTANT Emergency Musical Services.

If a sound system is required, who supplies it?

We bring our own system for events of 50 or more guests. All we require is a single power receptical within 50 feet of our performance space. Please don't put us on the same circuit as the caterers, they are always tripping breakers!

Do you play other styles of music?

The sound samples on this site represent the kind of music we do best. We can sometimes include a special song or tune from outside our genre. However if you want classical or pop music you should look elsewhere.

I want to book you for both my wedding and reception. Is that possible?

Yes, we often play for the ceremony and for cocktails or dinner.

What if they are in different locations?

No problem! We will come to the reception site and set up our sound system before the ceremony.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel in the mid-coast region of Maine is included in our fees. Travel in excess of 100 miles round trip will incur additional charges of 48-1/2¢ per mile. If your wedding is so far that we have to spend the night - Colorado for example - we will require all our travel expenses covered over and above our usual fee.

Speaking of fees, what do you charge?

We base our fee on the level of service you require. The basic ceremony, which includes prelude, processional, optional meditation music or song, and recessional is usually $450. Cocktail or dinner music is $900 for up to two hours. After two hours there is an additional charge of $300 for each hour or fraction thereof. If you engage us for both wedding and reception there is a 10% discount.

What if I want special music?

We will consider your request but we need to have either a recording or sheet music at least two months in advance of your day. We reserve the right arrange the music to use our instruments and voices to the best advantage.

What about the rehearsal?

In our experience we have found that it isn't necessary for us to attend the rehearsal. We will arrive early to reconoiter with your officiant for the important signals. Besides we have only known of two or three weddings which went as planned. If you insist on having us attend the rehearsal there is an additional charge.
